The learning era begun

In my four years of engineering life,I would ve taken on duty (popularly called as OD) for nearly 40 odd days just by getting a permission letter signed for some seminar or another. But to the point of fact I have not attended  a single one out of those.Even if the department arranges for a guest lecture or so,I would be the first one to find all possible reasons to bunk it in some way or another..
But today things have changed, right from the day of joining the Madras school of social work(MSSW) I have attended all de seminars n lectures with all of my interest, the best part of these two months was the ISTD conference which I attended the past two days.

It was a convention hosted by the Indian Society for Training and Development(ISTD) in association with the Society for Human Resource Management(SHRM).The event was for both the professionals as well as the students. The focus point of the conference was the GEN Y and its attributes. The conference had eighteen high end dignitaries, fourteen of them with presentations related to Gen Y and four of them formed a panel for discussion.

Now back to my views.. For the first time attending a corporate event which was so well-organized was in deed the best learning experience. The lectures were made as interesting as possible. The styles of communication and the attitudes of the speakers were really inspiring and interesting too.One thing that  constantly held my attention was the topic.Being a Gen Y er I was able to relate myself to every aspect they spoke about. For the past quiet some time I have been wondering about, where does my concentration stand ? and recently with this engagement have found a positive answer for it too.
As students we were treated with a high opinion, the networking with the people who are already leading the industry was exciting. The way they responded and got along with us was very motivating.
My first  experience in an industrial event was really prolific n also made me think that how much more fruitful it would have been if i would have used those 40 days in a proper way.The answer that instantly struck to my mind  was "MAHRM is your choice indeed"

You are more important than every THING that comes into your life.

The title by itself is self explanatory but still has a lot of profound meaning while looking in to it deeply ... On this context, one should have a clear understanding on what to is to be loved and what is to be used. People are to be loved and things are to be used but in today's living its the other way around most of the time.In connection to this i would like to narrate a small story which i read quiet some time back and here it goes..
A husband gifted a new car to his wife on her B'day. He first handed over the keys and then a pouch of necessary documents and followed it up with a hug offering her to go for a long ride.Hardly a kilometer in to the drive she hit the median .She was safe but the car was dented. She was consumed with guilt about what  was she going to tell him about this. The cops arrived at the scene and asked for the documents. With tears rolling down her cheek as she picked up the pouch, she noticed a post on it with her husband's handwriting "Honey, in case of an accident, please remember, its you that i love and not the car. Love you."
This is what life is all about but we frequently perplex between stuffs.Things that are into our life are just to make us more comfortable. At any cost. You are bigger than anything you own.You are more precious than everything you possess. You are more important than every thing that comes into your life.
Dont ever waste a drop of your precious tear for any external thing, no matter how dear it may be.After all you are the dearest of them all.

Life is a gift.

To begin with, Kudos to my couple of friends who have inspired me to start writing blogs. here goes my first blog with a good note.
We often see people regret about the various aspects of life, but looking into the true point how many of us make the best use of the precious gift given to us.We frequently tend to worry about the things which are momentary and n due course forget about the enduring aspects of  life. Life is a precious gift, more important is that how the more precious we make it wen it is into our hands.
So friends lets give a thought to this small note which may in turn create distinctive changes. Make the best use of everyday either by making someone happy or atleast we being happy ourselves.. After all your smile may be a reason  to put up a smile on another persons face.
